National Honor Society

More than just an honor roll, the Trinity chapter of the National Honor Society is dedicated to serving the school and the community. Members are selected based on outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character. National Honor Society officers are voted in by peers.

Application Process

NHS Selection Process

Students inducted into the National Honor Society are selected by a five-member faculty council. Students meeting the following criteria are invited to apply for membership by completing an application, available in April.

  • Must be a junior or senior.
  • Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must demonstrate experience in community service and leadership in the school or community.
  • Must be a student with exemplary character.

Once these requirements are met, the council then evaluates candidates on leadership, community service, and character.

A majority vote of the Council is necessary for selection. The Faculty Council solicits input from the entire faculty to evaluate a candidate’s leadership and character.

To Apply

Late in the spring semester, sophomores and juniors who meet the cumulative 3.5 GPA requirement are contacted and invited to complete a candidate form which outlines the candidate’s accomplishments in the areas of service and leadership. Students are selected during the summer and inducted in September.
